Meet Our Doctors
Lana D. Powell, MD FACOG
“Since I was young, I’ve felt I was meant to be a physician. I was inspired by my mother’s excellent doctors who made a positive difference in her life. In medical school, I chose to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology because it combines everything I enjoy most about medicine. I help my patients maintain and enjoy good health, and I’m here for them through any health problems they may face. Of course, it’s also incredibly fulfilling to work with my obstetrical patients and to share in the happiest, most special moments of their lives."
“I can relate to what my patients go through, and I think they appreciate that. I take the time to be present with the women in my care, to really listen and understand them. I also focus on keeping my patients informed. As your doctor, it’s my duty to make sure you understand your health status and to encourage your participation in your healthcare. This is not only what’s best for your health, it’s what you deserve from your physician.”
Board-Certified: American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology
Fellow: American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists
Residency: Obstetrics and Gynecology
William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, MI
MD: Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, MI
BBA: University of Michigan School of Business Administration
Before joining Premier Women’s Health, Dr. Powell served on the faculty at the University of Michigan for 2-1/2 years teaching future Ob/Gyns. She was also part of the team at the Breast Cancer Clinic at U of M, where she diagnosed and treated women with breast disease.
Dr. Powell is a Michigan native. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her family.
